Halters & Leads

Halters & Leads

In the old days, horses were tied up with leather halters. You broke it, you patched it,
sometimes 17 times. Then came Johnson halters made of heavy sash cord and a lot harder
to break. However, they left a lot to be desired, especially when they got wet. Today's
halters are wonderful, way stouter and very colorful. We carry a wide variety of tie halters
as well as flat web halters and most have leads to match. A good halter always cost
about 1% of a cowhand’s monthly wage. Same is true today as in 1930.
