Greets each customer and makes them aware
of new products and promotions. Makes sales associate aware
if customer needs assistance. If sales associate is unavailable
helps customers find products they are looking for and makes
recommendations based on customer needs.
Operates computerized cash register to conduct
sales transactions; handles cash, and makes change as required.
Answers telephones and transfers call to
the correct department or person.
Pages feed orders to warehouse and takes
special orders or phone orders to the correct department.
Helps monitor customers in the store in
case they need assistance or in case of suspicion of shoplifting.
Prepares cash register reconciliation at
end of day
Identifies and resolves discrepancies in
invoices and orders.
Keeps counter area clean and attractively
displayed. Helps customers with products displayed near
the counters and in showcases.
Position requires at least some Saturday
workdays. May be scheduled on a rotating basis.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Responsibility and Authority:
Money: Failure to handle customers tactfully
and correctly could result in cancellation and subsequent
loss of goodwill and profit. Must balance drawer and complete
paperwork correctly.
Uses discretion to screen telephone calls
for sales calls or when the requested person is unavailable
or busy.
Business Contacts: Responsible for maintaining
good customer relations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Cashier and retail sales experience
Experience and knowledge of horse and livestock
industry and products preferred
Ability to work well with others and good
customer relations skills
