Management Assistant
Department: Feed Sales
Reports to: Feed Specialist, Operations Manager, Owners
Security classification: Level 2
Job Summary and Essential Functions:
-
This position will play a vital roll
in creating a smooth operation within our wholesale,
specialty and pet feed business and our regular retail
feed areas
-
Works with our team leader and feed
team to grow our feed business to its greatest potential
and profitability
-
Enters feed purchase orders and vouchers
feed as it comes in
-
Assists the team with tracking feed
at the warehouse and the retail store
-
Handles incoming phone calls for this
department
-
Orders in-store feed supplements and
pet supplies
-
Sells feed and feed supplements in the
retail showroom
-
Researches new supplements or pet supplies
and works with management to keep Brighton Feed &
Saddlery on the forefront of our industry
-
Researches and places special/custom
orders as necessary
-
Becomes knowledgeable and capable of
ringing up all sales and assists in this area
-
Helps with in-store promotions for livestock
and pet feed, feed products, wormers and supplements
-
Becomes involved with our sales reps
in planning yearly feed promotions, ie. Truckload Sales,
HOW Meetings, Show Feed Promos
Additional Responsibilities:

Performs other related duties as assigned

Participates in company sponsored
training and educational sessions

Must be knowledgeable in the area of equine
and livestock feeds and nutrition

The application and implementation of computer
record keeping systems and vouchering
-
Excellent people skills working with co-workers
and the retail public
Feed has always been a part of our business that
brings in return traffic and meets the needs of the growing horse
and livestock industry in this area. Consumers are more educated
and desire to feed their animals to their greatest potential. Customer
service is extremely important.
