Sales Associate
Department: Retail
Reports to: Showroom Manager, Operations Manager, Owners
Security classification: Level 3
Job Summary and Essential Functions:

Greets each customer and makes them aware
of new products and promotions. Helps customers (in-store,
over the phone, or online) find products they are looking
for and makes recommendations based on customer needs. Uses
excellent sales techniques to meet or exceed sales goals.

Helps customers at the register as necessary.
Enters transactions accurately and completely.
-
Helps close the registers and store as necessary.
Makes sure registers balance and other closing functions are
properly performed.
-
Performs general floor maintenance and cleaning
in showrooms. Rearranges products on a weekly basis.
-
Monitors inventory turnover and keeps
ordering department informed of reorder needs, customer
requests and suggests products Brighton Feed may wish
to carry or discontinue.

Follows up on customer orders and purchases
where necessary.

Performs duties with marketing department
where customer contact is a prime responsibility.

Takes orders placed over the phone or internet,
pulls product and delivers it to the shipping department.

Helps in set-up, sales and tear-down of special
events, booths, sales and clinics.

Monitors customers in the store in case they
need assistance or in case of shoplifting.

Restocks shelves and maintains merchandising
and visual display standards

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Participates in company sponsored training
and educational sessions
Responsibility and Authority:

Money: Failure to handle customers tactfully
could result in cancellation and subsequent loss of goodwill
and profit.

Product: Proper display and care of products
in the store to reduce waste and increase profit.

Business Contacts: Responsible for maintaining
good customer relations.

Equipment: Reasonable care and operation of
standard office equipment and displays

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Experience and knowledge of horse and livestock
industry and products.
-
Knowledge of retail sales floor techniques,
floor merchandising techniques and stock control procedures.

Ability to spend lots of time on feet on sales
floor.

Ability to work well with others and good
customer relations skills. Self-motivated and energetic

Knowledge of customer service standards and
procedures.
