Warehouse Associate

Department: Warehouse
Reports to: Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager, Owners
Security classification: Level 4

Job Summary and Essential Functions:

  • Assists warehouse manager in daily operations.
  • Maintains proper level of feed. Uses trucks in the first or last hour of business for picking up feed from storage warehouse.
  • Loads feed and horseshoes for customer orders.
  • Makes sure feed area is rotated and cleaned on weekly basis and when any new feed arrives.
  • Makes sure docks (front and back) are swept and kept clean daily. Makes sure the yard and parking areas are kept clean and free of trash as well.
  • Keeps the hay barn clean and organized, loose hay cleanened up, and barn free from plastic and pallets from shavings.
  • Helps customers that enter the warehouse with the necessary feed or hardware and then walks with the customer to the cashier counter.
  • Reports all problems to warehouse manager.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Helps with small maintenance tasks within the store (hanging signs, changing fixtures, moving shelving, etc.)
  • Helps horseshoeing department fill orders for customers or for shipping.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Participate in company sponsored training and educational sessions.
Responsibility and Authority:
  • Upholds standards of customer service.
  • Equipment: adheres to a routine maintenance schedule on forklifts and all warehouse trucks. Takes care of repairs or calls a serviceman. Reports all repairs and incidents to Operations Manager or Owner.

Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge of animal nutrition beneficial
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License and clean Motor Vehicle Record
  • Self-motivated and energetic
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the department
  • Repetitive lifting of 50 pounds and occasional lifting and moving of 75-100 pounds
  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job (computer, forklift, etc…)
  • Ability to communicate with sales associates, managers and inventory control personnel
  • Ability to maintain organized records
